Mr. Grice is in his 31st year of teaching and first year at Friendswood High School as Assistant Band Director. Prior to coming to Friendswood, he was the Associate Band Director for seven years at Coppell High School where his bands earned consistent first division ratings in UIL Concert and Sight reading contests as well as festivals around the United States. Before coming to Coppell, Mr. Grice taught 19 years in the Pearland Independent School District where the last ten years he was Director of Bands at Pearland High School. While in Pearland, his bands were consistently selected to represent Area F at the UIL State Marching Contest and his bands received the UIL Sweepstakes Award every year. Mr. Grice received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and his master’s degree in administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. He is an active adjudicator throughout the state and is a member of Phi Beta Mu, TMAA, TMEA, TBA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
