Congratulations to All State Band Members

Sixteen FHS Band students were named as members of the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Bands following auditions held at Alvin HS on Saturday, Jan. 12.   Friendswood had the most students (42) at the auditions and had the most students make All-State of any school in the area. Sixteen All-Staters is the 2nd highest number the FHS Band has ever had.
Making the 5A All-State Band are Adrian Falco (Alto Sax), Natalie Merino (Horn), Zach Cocetti (Tuba), and Darian Larsen (Percussion). This is the 2nd time Natalie made the All-State band and the 3rd time for Zach.
Making the 4A All-State Band are Mia Purdom (Flute), Julia Lu (Flute), Chris Chao (Clarinet), Selina Vickery (Clarinet), Shellie Anderson (Bass Clarinet), David Bordelon (Tenor Sax), Ben Le (Bari Sax), Emily Irby (Trumpet), Megan Wade (Trumpet), Daniel Bradley (Horn), Kevin Lu (Euphonium), Pahno Georgeton (Percussion). This is the 2nd time Chris Chao has made the All-State Band.
An amazing fact; Mia Purdom, Megan Wade, Selina Vickery, and Kevin Lu are freshman who made the All-State Band.
First alternates to the All-State Band were Michael Hsu, Jillian Strickland, Zach Gallagher, Meghan Glanville and Mike Mayer.
These students will perform in San Antonio in February at the annual TMEA convention Feb. 13-16.
Congratulations to these talented musicians on their outstanding accomplishments.
